SAINT PAUL, MN—Representative Dave Baker, R-Willmar, was officially sworn-in for his second term Tuesday as the legislature began the 2017 session in St. Paul. Baker will continue to represent District 17B which includes most of Kandiyohi County, including the city of Willmar.
"I’m honored to once again be entrusted to be a voice for the people of 17B,” said Baker. “I’m looking forward to the 2017 session, and welcome any insight to improve our state or our area. The expanded Republican majority in the House will continue to fight for hardworking taxpayers and middle class families.”
Baker, who was re-elected to his second term this past November, will serve as Vice Chair of the Rules and Legislative Administration Committee. He will also serve as a member of the Health and Human Services Reform, Job Growth and Energy Affordability Policy and Finance, Transportation Finance, and Ways and Means Committees, as well as the Subcommittee on Aging and Long Term Care.
Baker lives in Willmar with his wife, Mary. They have three children. Baker is a small business owner and has been involved in numerous community, business, church, and government organizations over his career.
