Dear Friends,
Because of a 60-day, post-session rule, this will be my last legislative update for the next few months. I certainly expect to restart this when I can, but for now, I wanted to say thank you for allowing me to communicate with you over the last couple years. I’m extremely grateful to all that have contacted me to share opinions, ideas, and suggestions. It’s helped me be a better voice for our area. Thank you.
With my last update for the summer, I think it’s important to look back at what we’ve accomplished. I worked hard to combat the opioid epidemic. We made some big strides, but a couple of my top initiatives are still in the works. It’s a fight I won’t give up on, and I understand we have to do more to save the lives of Minnesotans.
One of the most critical accomplishments of this session was finally getting funding for Highway 23! We’ve been waiting so long for these needed dollars, and it’ll have a big impact on our area. This will make Highway 23 safer, increase commerce for cities along this stretch, and make it easier to travel in west central Minnesota. I want to thank Bob Dols of Willmar and the rest of the Highway 23 Task Force for their years of work and advocacy to help this funding become law.
Though I won’t be sending out updates, you can still call or email my office if you need anything. I’m still here to help, and will get back to you as soon as I can. Please stay in touch!
Have a great summer, and let me know if I can be of assistance.
Dave
