WILLMAR, MN—Rep. Dave Baker, R-Willmar, issued the following statement congratulating the 2018 Farm Family of the Year for Kandiyohi County, Pierce Family Farms.
“Congratulations to the Pierce family on being named the 2018 Kandiyohi County Farm Family of the Year,” said Baker. “Our family farms are the backbone of our agriculture industry in our area, and the Pierce family is proof of that by keeping their farm operating since 1873. Congrats to the entire Pierce family for this honor; they are certainly deserving.”
The Farm Family Recognition Program is coordinated by the University of Minnesota Extension; the College of Food, Agriculture, and Natural Resources Sciences; and the College of Veterinary Medicine and recognizes families from Minnesota's 87 counties who have made significant contributions to Minnesota agriculture and their communities. The 2018 Farm Family Recognition Program is set for today, August 9 at Farmfest.
