Dear Friends,
I hope you were able to spend time with family and friends this past weekend as we celebrated Thanksgiving. Every year, I am reminded of the tremendous blessings in my own life—my family, my business, and the honor of serving Kandiyohi County in St. Paul. Thank you for the trust you have placed in me.
It’s great to see all the Christmas decorations and lights going up all over town as folks get ready for the holidays. Despite the cold weather, this really is the best time of year.
Now that we are turning the page to December, I have started to prepare for the 2019 legislative session. For the first time since 2011, Mark Dayton will not be governor during this year’s session. Governor Dayton dedicated much of his adult-life to serving our state in a number of different ways. Thank you for your years of public service, Governor Dayton!
With that said, I am looking forward to working with our new Governor-elect, Tim Walz this session. There are a number of issues facing our state and I am hopeful that the Legislature will have a good working relationship with our new governor.
I pride myself on being a pragmatic leader that is willing to work with anyone, regardless of party-affiliation, to make Minnesota and Kandiyohi County a more prosperous place. I look forward to continuing that work this January.
Please do not hesitate to contact me with your ideas and suggestions for the coming session. I can be reached at rep.dave.baker@house.mn or you can call 651-296-6206.
All the best,
Dave
