Dear Neighbors,
Today, April 1st, is Census Day.
While today is not technically a deadline, I still encourage all of you to complete the Census sometime today or this week if you have time to do so!
Watch this short video I recorded to learn more about why it’s so important that we complete the Census.
COVID-19 Legislation
Last Thursday, the Minnesota Legislature overwhelmingly passed a bill that will help the state better respond to the COVID-19 outbreak. Since this crisis began, legislators on both sides of the aisle have been working around the clock to ensure Minnesota is prepared for this public health crisis.
This bill helps every Minnesotan in some way and provides assistance in particular to small businesses and their employees, farmers, childcare providers, veterans, and many others. If you would like to see everything that is included in the bill, click here.
Assistance for Small Businesses
Both the federal government and Minnesota Legislature have recently passed legislation to provide critical funds to Minnesota businesses and families. With new legislation comes questions on what the changes mean for Minnesota businesses.
Different programs make sense for different businesses, so I’m providing a summary guide to help small businesses quickly see which programs might be right for their situation.
View this new guide on the DEED website to see all the programs available now to businesses.
The Minnesota Chamber of Commerce recently recorded a webinar to answer your questions on both the state and federal COVID-19 relief packages.

Additionally, the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) has their Small Business Emergency Loan website up and running.
This brand-new program is available to help small business owners who need immediate assistance to meet their families' basic needs during COVID-19 closures.

Staying in Touch
Reminder that we have put together a list of resources including general information, business and unemployment resources, information on utilities and more. If you are looking for information, I would encourage you to check out this page.
We’re all in this together and things will eventually return to normal. Until then, I strongly encourage everyone to continue to listen to the advice of health experts and to do everything you can to stop the spread of COVID-19.
Finally, I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to all our doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals that are working so hard to keep us all safe and healthy. You inspire all of us with your dedication to serving your patients. Thank you!!!
Please continue to reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns.
Have a great day,
Dave
