Dear Neighbors,
Earlier this morning, 22 rail cars derailed in Raymond, resulting in an active emergency situation and the evacuation of a portion of the community.
As of now, the situation is under control and residents have been able to return to their homes.
Thankfully, there were no injuries reported.
Thank you to our first responders that reacted quickly to evacuate the area and thank you to the generous folks of Prinsburg and CMCS who opened their doors to give the evacuated a place to go while the situation was resolved.
I am overwhelmed by the outpouring of support we've received from around the state and for the heroic actions of our first responders and community members this morning.
This afternoon, I provided an update on the House Floor regarding the situation. You can watch those comments by clicking here or the photo below.
I remain in constant contact with city, county, state, and federal officials to make sure that the community has the support they need.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. I can be reached at rep.dave.baker@house.mn.gov or you can call 651-296-6206.
All the best,
Dave
