Saint Paul, MN – State Representative Dave Baker, R-Willmar, was appointed Monday evening to serve as the next Republican Chair of the House Labor and Workforce Development Finance and Policy Committee. Representative Baker was recently re-elected to serve his 6th term representing House District 16B which includes most of Kandiyohi County.
"It is an honor to serve as the next chairman of this important committee—one that has a direct impact on employees, employers, and Minnesota’s business community,” said Rep. Baker. “As I prepare for the upcoming legislative session, I look forward to collaborating with my colleagues, business leaders, and other stakeholders to reduce bureaucratic red tape and government overreach so that Minnesota can be a place where employees and employers can thrive and reach their full potential together.”
Rep. Baker owns several businesses in the Kandiyohi County area and has worked in management for nearly 30 years. He looks forward to bringing those decades of experience to his new role as a committee chairman.
The 2025 legislative session begins January 14th.
