SAINT PAUL, MN—Representative Dave Baker, R-Willmar, was officially sworn-in for his first term Tuesday as the legislature began the 2015 session in St. Paul. Baker will represent District 17B which includes most of Kandiyohi County, including the city of Willmar.
"I'm grateful for the trust that residents of Kandiyohi County have placed in me, and am ready to hit the ground running working hard on their behalf," Baker said. "The new Republican majority is ready to get to work helping to grow jobs, improve Minnesota's economy, and tackling the challenges facing Minnesota families."
Baker, who was elected to his first term this past November, was elected Assistant Majority Leader by his peers last month, and will serve as Vice Chair of the Job Growth and Energy Affordability Policy and Finance Committee. He will also serve as a member of the Aging and Long-Term Care Policy Committee, and the Health and Human Services Reform Committee.
Baker lives in Willmar with his wife, Mary. They have three children. Baker is a small business owner and has been involved in numerous community, business, church, and government organizations over his career.
