ST. PAUL, MN—Assistant Majority Leader and first-term Rep. Dave Baker, R-Willmar, has been appointed to the Explore Minnesota Tourism Council by House Speaker Kurt Daudt, R-Crown. Baker is one of two legislative appointments to the Explore Minnesota around the tourism industry.
"As a small business owner with extensive experience in the hospitality and tourism industry, I'm excited to serve on the Explore Minnesota Council and work to grow the tourism industry across the state," Baker said. "The tourism industry creates thousands of jobs for Minnesotans and helps bring thousands of travelers to Minnesota each year to stay in our hotels, fish on our lakes, and shop at our small businesses, generating tax revenue for our communities."
"Representative Baker is an ideal choice for the Explore Minnesota tourism board, and brings a lifetime of experience growing jobs in the hospitality and tourism industry," added House Speaker Kurt Daudt.
DFL Rep. Jack Considine, DFL-Mankato, was the other member appointed by the Speaker to the tourism board.
