Dear Friends,
Throughout the day today, conference committees have been meeting and will continue to meet into the evening. Legislative leaders are sticking to their bipartisan deal, and we hope Governor Dayton will realize this is a good budget that invests in our schools, nursing homes, and other important areas.
With fewer than 60 hours remaining for this session, we will continue to dig into good policy and spending targets late into this evening. I am continuing to meet with our leadership and committee chairs to push for provisions and final bills that will be good for Kandiyohi County.
Shared government is about compromise, and compromise means you won't get everything you want. Despite every side not getting what they want, I think this agreement is a good one and will help Minnesotans.
