ALBERT LEA, MN—Rep. Peggy Bennett, R-Albert Lea, issued the following statement congratulating area 2015 Farm Families of the Year. The Farm Family Recognition Program is coordinated by the University of Minnesota Extension; the College of Food, Agriculture, and Natural Resources Sciences; and the College of Veterinary Medicine and recognizes families from Minnesota's 87 counties who have made significant contributions to Minnesota agriculture and their communities. The 2015 Farm Family Recognition Program took place today at Farmfest.
2015 award winners from the five counties that are part of District 27A are:
Freeborn County: Frontier Family Farms; Cole and Katie Pestorious and Family
"We all owe a huge debt of gratitude to these and all farm families for the work they do to put food on our table, fuel in our cars, and provide jobs for thousands of Minnesotans all over the state. It's great to see these families recognized for their hard work and dedication to the agriculture community, and I want to congratulate them on this award."
Bennett is preparing House resolutions for each of the families to recognize their award.
