SAINT PAUL, MN – On Tuesday, Representative Peggy Bennett, R-Albert Lea, was appointed to the conference committee for House File 890, the Omnibus Education Finance Bill. Bennett joins four other House conferees, as well as Senate conferees, who will work in the coming days to resolve differences between the House and Senate versions of the Omnibus Education Finance Bill.
"I'm honored to be assigned to the Education Finance Conference Committee and I’m looking forward to working with my colleagues on the final bill,” said Bennett. “My goal is to ensure our schools are properly funded, and our students have the best possible environment to learn, grow, and succeed.”
Once the conference committee report is passed, the report will head to the House and Senate to be voted on. If passed by both bodies, it will be sent to the Governor for his signature to become law.
