Dear Neighbors,
Since I’ve been back in the district, I’ve heard from some folks who wanted more details on what the legislature passed into law this year. There’s so many good things to tell them that it can be tough to get everything across. Starting next week, I’m going to send out a weekly email detailing some of the main legislative accomplishments in a number of different subject areas. The first topic is important to me and important to our area: agriculture. Stay tuned!
Though it’s rewarding spending time in St. Paul and being a voice for our area, there’s many times I missed fun, important events here. This summer, I’ve enjoyed getting out and taking part in a number of activities where I’ve seen many of you. Last week, Colter and I had such fun collecting money for the Humane Society of Freeborn County's Buckets on Broadway fundraiser in Albert Lea. This is a great cause in helping four-legged friends in our area.
I also had the opportunity to go over to Kiester and walk around their Farming of Yesteryear Horse and Mule event for awhile. I enjoyed chatting with lots of area people and horse enthusiasts. I met a Keister resident, Peggy, who is the art instructor for the city’s community ed. painting classes. Peggy makes these beautiful wood burning pieces, which you can see on the table in the picture. I hope you can make it over to one of these Kiester farm events sometime. They are very fun, family-oriented events!
Getting out and taking part in all that’s happening in our district is so rewarding; I love seeing you around! If we haven’t chatted yet this summer, you’re always welcome to set up a time where we can meet and discuss any question or idea you have for our state.
Be sure to watch your inbox next week to find out about all the things we accomplished this session to help Minnesota farmers. Until then, please feel free to call or email my office if you have any questions.
Peggy
