Dear Neighbors,
Veterans Day
Today we observe Veterans Day, and I wanted to be sure to say thank you for all of our veterans and for all the men and women currently serving our country in the military. Especially today, I reflect on our liberties and freedoms, and those who have fought to protect these since our nation formed. Thank you to every veteran, and their family, for the incredible sacrifice made for the United States.
At the state level, we recognize the importance of helping veterans when they serve as well as when they return to civilian life. This session, we passed legislation to expand the Minnesota GI Bill, increase Support Our Troops grant eligibility amounts, provide more funding for the Veterans Affairs Department, and much more. We need to do what we can to support those who choose to serve our country.
As part of Veterans Day, I look forward to spending time in Glenville at their veteran’s dinner on Saturday. I always enjoy taking part in these events, and hearing the questions and ideas of our service men and women.
Please take time today and tomorrow to thank a veteran in your life. We’re so fortunate to be free, and we owe these brave Americans so much. Thank you, veterans.
Recent Visit
I had a wonderful time at the South Central Minnesota Youth for Christ noon banquet yesterday. The heartfelt stories shared by the young people there were truly inspiring. YFC has multiple quality programs that mentor youth in our area, many of whom feel hopeless and lost, and they help these young people to feel value and purpose in life.
Greg (pictured below) and Robin Gudal do an amazing job heading up the local YFC. Thank you to Greg and Robin for their steadfast and caring service to our local youth for all these years, and to the many local YFC staff and volunteers like them who make a difference in the lives of our young people!

As always, please call or email my office if you need anything. I'd love to set up a time to meet in our area.
Enjoy your weekend,
