Dear Neighbors,
Happy Friday and happy warm weather! Let’s get out and enjoy the weekend while we can; it looks like we might have more snow on the way.
Eagle Scout Ceremony
I want to say a big congratulations to Albert Lea’s Brayden Boettcher for attaining the rank of Eagle Scout! I had the privilege of attending Brayden’s ceremony and presenting him with a resolution from the MN House of Representatives during Saturday’s program. The character and caliber of the young men who receive this high honor from the Boy Scouts always amazes me, and Brayden certainly exemplifies these attributes well. What a hardworking, respectful, and caring young man. Again, congrats, Brayden!
Wells Fish Fry
Another fun event from this week was the annual fish fry put on by Norbert and Linda Sonnek of Wells. The place was packed, and it was a great time to eat some delicious fish and interact with some of our local residents. Thank you, Norbert and Linda, for the invite!
Classroom Visit
As a former teacher, one of the highlights of being a legislator is returning to visit local classrooms. On Wednesday, I was able to visit with students at Southwest Middle School about my role as a state representative. I heard some thoughtful questions, and enjoyed interacting with the students.
Go Vikings!
Our Vikings are in the NFC Championship game this weekend against the Eagles with a chance to go to the Super Bowl. The whole state is obviously excited; I joined my House colleagues in wishing our team luck this weekend. You can see the fun video here (watch until the end to see Colter make a guest appearance!). Skol Vikings!
Please Contact Me
As always, please feel free to reach out if you have questions about any state issue. I’d love to hear from you!
Enjoy the weekend,
Peggy
