ALBERT LEA, MN – On Wednesday, the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) announced a series of grants to support job creation in Minnesota. Local software business startup, Mortarr LLC in Albert Lea, will receive $175,000 in Minnesota Job Creation funds.
“Congratulations to the local small business owners of Mortarr on receiving this grant to help grow good-paying jobs in our area,” said Rep. Peggy Bennett, R-Albert Lea. “It’s great to see increased investment and job growth in our community, and I’m excited to see the big impact these dollars will have going forward.”
According to DEED, “Mortarr is a majority woman-owned software business startup specializing in the commercial construction and design industry. The company plans to invest $1 million to renovate a historic building that will serve as its headquarters in downtown Albert Lea. Officials anticipate creating 34 jobs within two years at wages that average $22.29 per hour.”
