Hello from St. Paul,
Hope you survived last weekend’s snowstorm!
On Tuesday, lawmakers returned to St. Paul to begin the 2020 legislative session, complete with a floor session and numerous committee hearings.
I serve on the Capital Investment Committee, and we are already hearing plenty of testimony as there is a comprehensive bonding bill likely to come forward there in the weeks ahead. Flood mitigation on Albert Lea’s Main Street, the Blazing Star Trail, the Blazing Star Landing, and the Shell Rock River Watershed Board are among local projects seeking funding this session.
LOCAL VISITORS
Speaking of capital investment, Shell Rock River Watershed District Administrator Andy Henschel visited me in St. Paul to discuss the Fountain Lake Restoration Project.
It was also nice to see Freeborn County Auditor/Treasurer, Pat Martinson and Chief Deputy Kelly Hendrickson at the Capitol Tuesday. Pat and Kelly met with me to share the issues and priorities of the Auditor/Treasurer’s office. It is so helpful for me to hear from the people who do the day to day work. Thanks for coming!
Have a good weekend,
Peggy
