Dear Neighbors,
I hope you and your family had a safe and fun Independence Day and were able to enjoy some fireworks.
One of the crowing achievements from this year’s legislative session was securing the funding for a four-lane expansion of Highway 14 from Owatonna to Dodge Center. For those of us in the area, we are well aware of the importance of Highway 14 for our local economy. On the flipside, we also understand that Highway 14 has been in need of a makeover for some time.
For years, community and business leaders from the area have advocated for a four-lane expansion of Highway 14. This push had been for safety reasons as well as a means to alleviate some of the congestion on the highway.
I appreciate the Governor’s willingness to sign this legislation into law and am excited for what the future holds for our region once this project is completed.
On Friday, we received an update from state officials in charge of fixing MNLARS. The update indicated that several fixes and new systems were implemented in the last month with no hiccups. In addition to this encouraging news, we also got word that they are running behind schedule on a few other initiatives.
I will keep you posted on additional updates as we receive them throughout the year.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to me to share any thoughts or concerns you may have about state government or the job I'm doing as your representative. It would be great to talk with you. I can be reached by phone at 651-296-8237 or via email at rep.brian.daniels@house.mn.
Thanks and have a great week,
