ST. PAUL —State Representative Brian Daniels, R-Faribault, issued the following statement regarding the release of the state's updated budget forecast which shows a $17.5 billion surplus:
“Today’s budget forecast proves once again that Minnesotans are being significantly overtaxed,” said Daniels. “Never before in our history has state government been swimming in more of your money. While Governor Walz and Democrats in St. Paul are looking to raise taxes even more this year, I will be working tirelessly to prevent their reckless proposals from becoming law. You deserve significant tax relief, and I am committed to making that happen.”
