ST. PAUL — State Representative Brian Daniels, R-Faribault, issued the following statement on the November Budget and Economic Forecast released today showing a looming deficit in the next biennium.
“Today’s report shows that one-party control in St. Paul is having a devastating impact on Minnesota families and the state’s fiscal health,” said Rep. Daniels. “Democrats took a $17.5 billion budget surplus, raised taxes be $10 billion and went on a reckless spending spree—growing the state budget by an unsustainable 40%. It’s no wonder that we are now looking at a budget deficit in the near future. Now more than ever, we need balance in St. Paul to rein in the tax and spend fiscal policies of Democrats and Governor Walz.”
