Dear Lakeville Neighbors,
Happy Veterans Day! Today gives us the opportunity to celebrate the current and former members of the military, and to thank them for their devoted service. The freedoms and liberties we hold dear are only possible because of our dedicated veterans.
I had the privilege to attend a few Veterans services this morning around Lakeville. I appreciated the opportunity to serve breakfast at Highview Hills Senior Living and had the pleasure to meet “Captain Dan” former owner of the Chart House Restaurant and Veteran. Also, thank you to the Lakeville VFW and American Legion for their participation in today’s ceremonies.
Veterans Day is a good reminder that our service men and women, as well as their families, sometimes need assistance. If you’re interested in finding a veteran-related volunteer opportunity, please check out www.volunteer.va.gov or contact Lakeville Beyond The Yellow Ribbon for more information.
Most of your probably know someone who is serving or has served in our military. Please take a second to shake their hand, or buy them lunch, or simply say thank you. We owe them a great deal of gratitude for protecting our nation and keeping us free.
Thank you, Veterans!
