ST. PAUL – State Rep. Jon Koznick, R-Lakeville, was officially sworn in to a second term as a state representative on Tuesday, January 3, after taking the oath of office administered by Chief Justice Lori Gildea. Archbishop Bernard Hebda gave the opening prayer of the 2017 session.
“It was truly an honor to meet Archbishop Hebda to start the legislative session,” said Koznick. “I received a new Bible from my family for Christmas, and was fortunate to have the Archbishop sign it. It’s a helpful reminder to the important work we’re undertaking in St. Paul, and I appreciate the Archbishop’s insight and guidance for to the House of Representatives.”
Koznick, a mortgage lender and real estate professional, will continue in representing House District 58A – encompassing the city of Lakeville – at the Capitol in St. Paul.
“Lakeville is home to amazing people, and I’m looking forward to continuing my service for such a premier Minnesota city,” said Koznick. “We have a tall task to deliver tax relief and healthcare reform in the upcoming session, but I look forward to the challenge of improving our area and state.”
Koznick was named vice-chair of the Transportation and Regional Governance Policy Committee, and will also serve on the Transportation Finance and Taxes Committees.
