LAKEVILLE, MN - On Thursday, reports surfaced of a swastika carved into a putting green at Crystal Lake Golf Club in Lakeville. Rep. Jon Koznick, R-Lakeville, issued the following statement on the incident:
“The carving of a swastika at Crystal Lake Golf Club is absolutely sickening and has no place in Lakeville, our state, or our country,” said Koznick. “It doesn’t represent who we are as a community and this act doesn’t reflect the values or attitudes of Lakeville or the fine people I have come to know and represent. We can all condemn this and all forms of bigotry and intolerance. This act was immature, ignorant and disturbing; striking at core freedoms of religion and assembly. Our nation was founded under respecting this very freedom of religion that has served us well, anti-Semitism and all religious attacks must be condemned. I am disappointed that this happened but know the heart of Lakeville is a welcoming and tolerant one that regularly rises above to achieve much together.”
Rep. Koznick encourages anyone with information on any persons who may be involved in the incident, please contact Lakeville police at 952-985-2800.
