Dear Lakeville Neighbors,
This weekend, we celebrate our nation’s veterans. Veterans Day is a time where we make sure veterans and current service members know how important they are to our state and our country. To all those who have served or are currently serving, thank you. We owe you so much for the freedoms we enjoy on a daily basis.
Especially this time of year, I enjoy attending various veteran events in our area. I recently met Virgil Beck, a Korean War Veteran and Lakeville resident. I met him at the airport when he returned from an "Honor Flight" to Washington DC. These are one-day trips for WWII and Korean War vets to see the war memorial and spend a day in our nation’s capital. What’s great is that these important trips are provided at no cost to the veterans; it’s all covered by donations.
This morning, I attended a pancake fundraiser at the Fountains at Hosanna! in Lakeville for the Honor Flight program, and I look forward to this service continuing for our veterans. Thank you to the Fountains at Hosanna!, Tee It Up for the Troops, and the Lakeville Lions for contributing to this great cause.
Be sure to say thank you to a veteran in your life. We are eternally grateful for our veterans, current service members, and their families for all they’ve done for us.
Enjoy your weekend,
