Rep. Koznick to Donate Special Session Per Diem to Lakeville Public Safety
St. Paul, MN—State Representative Jon Koznick, R-Lakeville, announced today that he will be donating per diem from today’s special session to the Lakeville Public Safety Foundation. The legislature is returning to St. Paul today for the start of a special session to complete the state budget.
“Because of a lack of compromise by Governor Walz and Democrats, we once again need a special session in order to pass a budget and avoid a government shutdown,” said Rep. Koznick. “For too long, Governor Walz and his allies in the legislature have refused to back off their demands for policy that is hostile towards and weakens law enforcement, in addition to seeking billions in new taxes at a time when the state has the largest budget surplus in modern history. The citizens of Lakeville sent me to St. Paul to advocate for them and to do our state’s business. It's time for leaders to stand up for the voters that sent them here and for the legislature to work together and finish our work.”
Koznick plans to donate his per diem from the special session to the Lakeville Public Safety Foundation.
“Donating to the Lakeville Public Safety Foundation is a small gesture of support and appreciation for the professional and amazing work law enforcement officers perform in our community on a daily basis. Thank you for your hard work and commitment to Lakeville and Dakota County.”
