ST. PAUL – In Tuesday’s House floor session, the House of Representatives passed the Transportation Finance omnibus bill. The Road and Bridge Act of 2015 is funded in part by HF710, Koznick’s signature legislation to reallocate the Motor Vehicle Lease Sales Tax to provide over $250,000,000 of funding over a ten-year period for transportation projects in Greater Minnesota and the seven county metro area, including $12 million to Dakota County alone.
State Rep. Jon Koznick’s (R-Lakeville) bill clarifying requirements for over dimensional load escort vehicles (HF1573) was passed as a component of the Transportation Finance omnibus bill.
Speaking on the passage of HF1573, Koznick said:
“Our state law unnecessarily burdens Minnesotans everyday by making simple issues complex. Prior to the passage of my bill, the state law surrounding the necessary documents for the escort of an over dimensional load lacked clarity. My law sets a clear requirement for escort drivers, increasing the ease by which they do business. Thank you to my colleagues for their support. I hope the Senate will act quickly to increase clarity for Minnesotans.”
