Dear Neighbors,
Thanksgiving is one of my favorite moments of the year - a time to pause, spend time with those we care about, and express gratitude for the good things in our lives. It can also be a time to recommit ourselves to the work of building a better community for all, including those who aren't experiencing our good fortune.
This year, I'm grateful for the love and support of my family and friends. I'm grateful for the chance to do meaningful work that I care about, both inside and outside of the Capitol. I'm grateful for those who serve our community - those who keep us safe, those who educate us, those who provide vital services that we often overlook. I'm grateful to live in our state and our nation.
We face so many challenges - from the fiscal, to the demographic, to the environmental and more. Not the least of these challenges is the set of significant inequities - economic, criminal justice, education, and others - experienced by Minnesotans of color and detrimental to ALL Minnesotans.
These challenges, though, make me even more deeply grateful for the trust that you've placed in me - for the opportunity to represent a community that cares so much about the good of our state as a whole. This weekend we pause and reflect - and then, back to work.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!
