ST. PAUL, MN – Today, Minnesota House Speaker-designate Melissa Hortman announced that State Rep. Dave Pinto (DFL – St. Paul) will chair a newly-created subcommittee on Early Childhood Finance and Policy for the 2019-2020 biennium. Breaking new ground, the group will report to both the Health & Human Services and Education Finance Committees of the full House. Rep. Pinto released the following statement:
“I am honored to lead our new majority on issues that impact the earliest years of life. Every Minnesota child deserves a great start in life, for the benefit of us all. I look forward to using the knowledge shared by early childhood advocates statewide during the bipartisan Prenatal to Three Policy Forums that I have hosted quarterly over the past several years. Our state is ready for an ambitious agenda on behalf of the youngest Minnesotans.”
Rep. Pinto encourages community members of St. Paul's Macalester-Groveland, Highland Park, and Fort Road/West 7th neighborhoods to contact him on any legislative issue. He can be reached by email at rep.dave.pinto@house.mn or phone at 651-296-4199.
