ST. PAUL – With the 2018 legislative session around the corner, Rep. Cheryl Youakim (DFL – Hopkins) has announced several opportunities for community members to share their ideas in-person. Rep. Youakim is again hosting a series of “Community Conversations” both in Hopkins and St. Louis Park. Additionally, along with Sen. Ron Latz and Rep. Peggy Flanagan, a Town Hall Meeting will be held January 31 at St. Louis Park City Hall.
"In order to effectively represent our communities in St. Paul, I need as much input as possible. I offer these Community Conversations in St. Louis Park and Hopkins to make it convenient for folks,” Rep. Youakim said. “We have a great deal of work ahead of us at the State Capitol, and I look forward to having an open dialogue with the community throughout the session. Conversations like these play a key role in this. But folks can also reach me by e-mail or phone as well.”
The Community Conversations have an open format, with a brief legislative status update from Rep. Youakim and plenty of time for questions and discussion. At the January 31 Town Hall Meeting, each area legislator will give a preview of the session, after which the floor will be open for questions and input.
The meetings are free and everyone is welcome.
