Please RSVP to my legislative assistant, Eric Petersen, at eric.petersen@house.mn to receive the Zoom information. I’m looking forward to connecting online.
Community Meetings
Between committee hearings and a brief floor session on Monday, I met with our amazing City of Hopkins and St. Louis Park Fire Departments on Fire Safety Day. I am so grateful for their public service and commitment to keeping us safe. Later, I had the opportunity to connect with the St. Louis Park City Council to hear about the needs within the community. It's always a pleasure to partner with our city leaders as we work together to deliver for Minnesotans.
Democracy for the People Act
Announced in the House
Today, my House colleagues introduced a legislative package called the Democracy for the People Act, which aims to build a strong, inclusive democracy that works for Minnesotans of every race, region, political party, and generation. Highlights of the package include: ensuring state and local elections officials can access the critical federal Help America Vote Act (HAVA) funds they need for election security and infrastructure; establishing ballot drop box and return sites; and closing dark money loopholes. You can read more about the Democracy for the People Act here.
Stay in Touch
Please continue to reach out at rep.cheryl.youakim@house.mn or by leaving me a voicemail at 651-296-9889. Because we are still operating remotely in the Minnesota House of Representatives, email is the best way to reach me. You’re welcome to follow me on my official Facebook page for additional community and Capitol updates.
Thank you for the honor of serving our residents and families in the Minnesota House!
Stay well,
Cheryl Youakim
