St. Paul, MN- Rep. Cheryl Youakim (DFL-Hopkins) has earned the 2021 Legislator of the Year award from the Minnesota School Social Workers Association. The award recognizes her support for the profession of school social work with her work on legislation that would expand third-party billing for health-related school social work services.
“School social workers play an integral role in our students’ educational success,” said Rep. Youakim. “We need to continue to work to make sure they have the tools to meet our students’ growing needs.”
The Minnesota School Social Workers Association is a statewide advocacy organization committed to the improvement of the school social work profession and to the wellbeing of children and their families.
