Dear Neighbors, I hope this message finds you well and if you celebrated Hanukah, Christmas, or are currently celebrating Kwanzaa, you’ve been able to enjoy the time safely with loved ones. This is a time of the year for celebration, reflection, and gratitude. As we look ahead to 2022, I hope the New Year is bright and healthy. Our days are getting more light every day and the snow provides great opportunities to enjoy our local parks and trails in Hopkins and St. Louis Park. Many new laws will also take effect on January 1, 2022. Check out the list, some of which include expanding access to mental health services in Minnesota, delivering funding to support law enforcement agencies, and more, here.
January Community ConversationsWith the uncertainty of the COVID-19 Omicron variant, and the enormous strain on our health care system, I will hold these conversations on Zoom. Please RSVP with my Legislative Assistant, Eric Petersen, at eric.petersen@house.mn or call 651-296-9889 to receive the information on how to join. The first one is on Tuesday, January 11 and the second is on Wednesday, January 26. Both are at 6:30-8:00 p.m. I hope you’ll join me and our neighbors online to share your input on which supplemental investments you think are most critical to make this session. You’re also invited to take a short, four-question survey to share your input as well. The Minnesota Value Project is an initiative my colleagues and I began in recent years, in collaboration with communities across the state, to determine how we can ensure all Minnesotans have the opportunity to thrive. It’s important for Hopkins and St. Louis Park voices to be included in this work. Thank you in advance for contributing your ideas and suggestions.
Keep in TouchPlease continue to contact me anytime with questions, input, or to let me know how I can be of assistance. As remote operations continue, email the quickest way to get in touch. Thank you for the honor of representing you at the Capitol. Happy New Year! Warmly, Cheryl Youakim |
