Dear Neighbors, Happy Wednesday! Session adjourned on Monday evening this week and we’ll be doing a deep dive at our Town Hall Meeting this evening in Edina at 6:00 p.m. I hope you can join us to share your questions and input. The sun is out and it’s shaping up to be a beautiful day. Governor Walz signed our legislative two year state budget bills into law today at the Capitol. Alongside our DFL Senators, we ended the gridlock and delivered on the promises we made to Minnesotans. It was an honor to be a part of the team who worked to address long overdue issues to improve the lives of our residents. Measures like stabilized and reliable school funding for the future, Paid Family and Medical Leave, driver’s licenses for all, universal school meals, safer and sturdier infrastructure, tax cuts for working families and seniors, gun violence prevention, protecting reproductive and LGBTQAI2+ rights, strengthened elections policy, and more. These are transformational investments that will help our students recover from the pandemic, ensure our older Minnesotans can age in place, voters can participate fully in our democracy, and working families can take the time off they need when someone is sick or caring for a new baby. Local Projects in Capital Investment BillOn Monday, we passed two Capital Investment bills that will build infrastructure, support local projects and create jobs in our district and around the state! I was glad to see it contained many projects for our area, including:
