Part of Attorney General Transition Advisory Team
I’m proud to announce that I’ve been asked to help our future Attorney General, Keith Ellison, conduct his official transition into this new public office. The 36 member advisory board—made up of state legislators, attorneys, and advocates—will help Attorney General-Elect Ellison prepare to take over the role of the state’s top attorney, including recruitment, community engagement, and the office’s budget.
This is a great honor and an exciting opportunity for our state. I’m proud to be part of the team that will be helping to make sure the AG’s office best serves Minnesotans. You can read more about the transition team here.
New Deer Season, New Cases of Chronic Wasting Disease
New testing during this hunting season is showing that Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) is spreading in Minnesota’s wild whitetail deer herd. The DNR’s testing program continues to identify new cases in several regions of the state. I am hopeful that with new leadership in the House we will finally be able to take meaningful action to protect this public resource in the coming months.
You can read more about the recent spread of CWD here and more from the DNR’s testing and containment efforts here.
Free State Park Friday!
“Free Park Friday” in Minnesota is this Friday, November 23! Entrance fees to all state parks and recreation areas will be waived. Enjoy the beauty and diversity of Minnesota parks without a fee!

Low income veterans are being encouraged to apply for help paying heating bills through the Energy Assistance Program (EAP). If you know someone who could benefit from this program, please pass on this information.

As always, it is an honor to represent you at the State Capitol. Don’t hesitate to reach out with any issues, ideas or concerns. Have a safe and fun holiday weekend!
