Dear Neighbor,
I hope that 2019 is off to a great start for you and your families! Things are gearing up as the first week of session at the legislature comes to a close.
On Tuesday, I was sworn in for my second term in the Minnesota House! I’m honored to continue representing our community at the State Capitol and working on the issues that impact us all. By coming together, we will ensure that our kids have a high-quality education, healthcare is affordable and accessible, and every Minnesotan can live in a safe, healthy community.
Ready to Work!
I was selected by Speaker Hortman to lead a group of legislators to “notify the Governor that the House is now organized and ready to receive any message he may desire to give them.” This is a custom that has little practical purpose now in the age of cell phones and live television, but it was fun to lead some of my new colleagues in a search for the Governor. Governor Walz passed on the message that he is excited to get to work with the Legislature!
We were over-achievers in our Governor quest and also found the Lieutenant Governor and Attorney General!

We have a great deal of work ahead of us this session and I’m excited to get started.
