ST. PAUL – House Republicans announced their budget targets Monday, headlined by $1.35 billion in tax relief for Minnesota families, $450 million in new funding for road and bridge infrastructure, and an overall budget target that ensures a sustainable level of state spending for the next biennium. Below is a statement from Rep. Matt Bliss, R-Pennington, in response.
“The House plan is a good balance of much-needed tax relief while also supporting top priorities such as education and roads and bridges,” Bliss said. “This approach allows us to fund the important things and still be respectful of the taxpayers' dollar. It will be a long couple of months working toward a final agreement with the Senate and the governor, but the budget proposal the House is offering gives us a solid start.”
