MN Dept. of Commerce Shares Tips on Avoiding Scams

The Minnesota Dept. of Commerce is encouraging Minnesotans to watch for possible scams at this uncertain time. You can read more here about how to protect yourself from e-mail, phone, mail and social media scams.

Governor Walz issues more executive orders

On Wednesday, Gov. Walz issued three additional executive orders to further strengthen Minnesota’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The executive orders protect residents of Veterans Homes; exempt vehicles and drivers from certain regulations to ensure efficient emergency supply relief throughout the state; and provide paid leave and other support for state employees, respectively. Minnesota Department of Revenue suspends sales tax for certain businesses

The Minnesota Department of Revenue is granting a 30-day Sales and Use Tax grace period for businesses. During this time, the department will not assess penalties or interest.

Identified businesses with a monthly Sales and Use Tax payment due TOMORROW, March 20, 2020, have until April 20 to make their payment.

Our Pets and COVID-19

Pets are such a major part of our families. The Humane Society has put together some information you might find useful as we care for our animal friends.

Animal Humane Society (AHS) has closed all metro-area shelters through May 2.
