Neighbors,
On Wednesday, Gov. Walz extended the Stay at Home executive order until May 4. He presented evidence that our current strategy is working, and lives are being saved. You can read about this and all Executive Orders signed by Gov. Walz here.

Protecting our first responders
This week, the House met in a remote floor session to pass legislation giving first responders workers’ compensation should they contract COVID-19 while working. You can read my statement on passage of the bill, which Gov. Walz has signed into law. First responders are always there for us and I’m glad we passed legislation to support them.
Remote committees
On Wednesday, several committees met remotely to discuss mostly COVID-19 related measures. The Government Operations committee met to discuss a bill I’ve chief authored, HF 4507, to modify the interactive television attendance requirements for the open meeting law. You can read the news release here with more details and information. Other committees that met remotely this week were Education Policy, Taxes, Judiciary Finance & Civil Law, Transportation Finance & Policy, and the Subcommittee on Elections.
