ST. PAUL – Yesterday, officials from Minnesota Management and Budget released an updated budget forecast which projects a $7.7 billion state budget surplus for the current biennium.
State Rep. Erin Koegel (DFL – Spring Lake Park) released the following statement:
“The budget forecast is terrific news for Minnesota and reflects the resilience of workers and families in our state. We still have a long road towards recovery, and with this budget surplus, now is the time to make investments to address the challenges facing our people and build a brighter future for everyone.”
“We have an opportunity this session to increase access to healthcare, support paid family and medical leave, and provide more resources for students to continue expanding our economy for the future. I am ready to go to work for Minnesota’s future.”
