SENIOR FRAUD PREVENTION EVENT

As part of the Minnesota Department of Commerce’s Elder Financial Fraud Prevention campaign, they have created a prevention toolkit and shared its message across the state with 20 in-person events over the past 5 months. They provide information about different types of fraud and scams, protecting investments, how to start the conversation about fraud, and where to report instances of fraud.

Beginning in late November, they launched a multimedia awareness campaign that targets caregivers and older adults, taking advantage of the holiday season when families are gathered. This toolkit will be available at various kick-off events beginning this month. The events will include a press brief and an interactive presentation from the Department of Commerce about the red flags of fraud.

There will be an event on December 5th 2017 at 9:30AM-11:30AM at the Cora McCorvey Center: Heritage Park, 1015 N 4th Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55405.
