St. Paul, MN - Today, Governor Walz and Lt. Governor Flanagan released a proposal for their 2024 Infrastructure Plan. The proposal includes over $980 million in investments, utilizing a mix of state bonds and the general fund, to focus on preserving state infrastructure, water and transportation infrastructure, public safety, housing and the environment.
State Representative Fue Lee (DFL - Minneapolis), Chair of the House Capital Investment Committee, released the following statement:
“I appreciate the commitment of Governor Walz and Lt. Governor Flanagan to crafting a strong Capital Investment Bill this year. As we work to craft our own proposal in the House, we’ll do so in a way that protects what we have, builds what we need, and lifts up communities too often left behind when it comes to state investment. I look forward to working with the Walz Administration and our colleagues in the Senate to deliver on these investments that make our entire state a better place to live, work, and raise a family.”
Last fall, in preparation for crafting a 2024 Capital Investment Bill, the House Capital Investment Committee toured 83 cities across the state, hearing over 200 project proposals. The committee will begin preparing its proposal when the 2024 legislative session convenes on February 12.
