Dear Neighbors, This morning, we wrapped up some leftover stops we had from last year’s Capital Investment Tours, visiting the Minneapolis Veterans Home and the Bloomington Armory. Both sites were good examples of the need for asset preservation - taking care of what we already have. |
The final Capital Investment package will likely be a mix of proposals like these (asset preservation), and new construction on things communities are vying for (local projects). It was great to get these last stops done as we prepare to “revisit” many of our past tour stops when we review these projects in committee in the coming weeks. |
101 Environmental ProjectsYesterday on the House Floor, we passed legislation I co-authored to fund 101 projects across our state that protect our wildlife, water, air, and soil. Minnesotans take pride in our legacy of environmental stewardship, and thanks to the Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund, even though the vast majority of us won’t win big playing the lottery, the proceeds from it ensure our environment and natural resources are protected for generations to come. |
The 2024 Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund Bill includes funding for environmental education projects, climate change and natural resources research, clean water resources, invasive species response, conservation land acquisition, and habitat protection and restoration projects. A full list of projects can be found here.
2024 Tax ChangesThis Tax season, make sure you’re taking advantage of the new changes we implemented last year - changes that made Minnesota’s tax system the most equitable among US states, with several new credits, refunds, and exemptions are now available. |
You can find more information and resources at the Minnesota Department of Revenue.
