Capital Investment Committee hears slate of DFL-led Housing Bills

Tuesday, March 25, 2025

St. Paul, MN - Today, for the second DFL-led hearing of the House Capital Investment Committee, legislators focused on a series of DFL-authored bills that would invest in housing infrastructure projects throughout Minnesota.

“A lot of attention can be given to stadiums and other big-budget projects, but some of the most life-changing work our committee can do is help fund the creation and preservation of homes so more Minnesotans have a place to lay their heads at night,” said Rep. Fue Lee (DFL - Minneapolis), the committee's DFL Co-Chair and author of one of the several housing bills brought before the committee today. “We invest in so many important community projects, but that doesn’t mean much to our neighbors that don’t have a safe and secure place to call home. Any meaningful Capital Investment bill must prioritize housing.”

The Capital Investment Committee heard a total of 10 housing-related bills today. More information can be found on the committee’s webpage. Today’s hearing follows last week’s first DFL-led committee meeting that investigated the impact of the Trump administration’s policies on Minnesota’s infrastructure
