I continue to be thankful for members of the community coming to the Capitol to advocate for the issues important to them. I've recently had the opportunity to visit with members of ISAIAH, advocating for child care investments.

Former Eden Prairie Fire Chief George Esbensen was at the Capitol advocating for the Minnesota Firefighter Initiative (MnFIRE), working to support our brave firefighters as some of them struggle with cancer, cardiac conditions, and emotional wellness.

Last Thursday was "Puppy Day" at the Capitol, and the Animal Humane Society brought some pooches as they advocated for anti-cruelty measures.

Town Hall Meeting
Sen. Steve Cwodzinski, Rep. Carlie Kotyza-Witthuhn and I invite you to attend a Town Hall Meeting on Wednesday, April 17 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. We will meet at Eden Prairie High School in the East Commons. This is a good opportunity to share your input about the issues that matter to you.
This event will occur during the Legislature's Easter/Passover recess, and we will be approaching the home stretch of the legislative session, reaching a pivotal time as we consider some significant policy and budget matters. I hope you can attend and make your voice heard.

| This week, the House DFL Majority unveiled the Minnesota Values Budget. This framework makes significant investments in education, affordable health care, and safe and inclusive communities. Ultimately, in hearing from people throughout the state, we know Minnesotans care about one another and want to see each other succeed. With the priorities we've outlined in this budget, I'm confident we can move ahead this session in a way that reflects our shared values and can improve the lives of people across the state. |

Ending Sexual Harassment
With a strong bipartisan vote of 113-10, last week, the House approved HF 10, a bill to strengthen our state's sexual harassment laws. This took a bold step forward to ensure Minnesotans can live and work in an environment free from sexual harassment. Unfortunately, more than 80 percent of women have experienced sexual harassment at work. This is inexcusable.
For too long, courts have upheld an unreasonable "severe and pervasive" threshold when considering sexual harassment matters. This has made it nearly impossible for those who have experienced this reprehensible behavior to seek justice. The #MeToo movement has given a powerful voice to survivors, and I was proud to support this legislation.
