SAINT PAUL, MN – Today, legislators met in remote session to pass important legislation to protect first responders. Representative Laurie Pryor (DFL - Minnetonka) released the following statement:
“Thank you to our first responders and health care workers who show up for us every day. Today we stood up for them and passed important workers’ compensation legislation. I appreciate all they do by putting their lives on the line to help us.”
The legislation goes into effect for employees who contract COVID-19? on or after the day following final enactment.
The legislation is the result of an agreement reached by legislative leaders in both the Minnesota House and Senate, as well as Governor Walz.
