Neighbors, The pandemic has been very difficult for many, but as vaccines become more widely administered and businesses are recovering, additional unemployment benefits received through Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Compensation or Pandemic Emergency Assistance are ending the week of September 4. Read more here. Make sure to take advantage of this resource to help you return to your career or train for a new occupation. Help Me Connect Help Me Connect is a new website that helps pregnant and parenting families with young children connect to services in their local communities that support healthy child development and family well-being. New Laws Take Effect Several new laws passed during the regular and special legislative sessions took effect Aug. 1, 2021. They can be viewed here. Summaries of all laws passed by the 2021 Legislature in regular and special sessions are available online from nonpartisan House Public Information Services, with assistance from nonpartisan House Research here. COVID-19 Vaccination Update More than 3 million (70%) of our friends and neighbors have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. It is important to get your vaccine to guard against the highly contagious Delta variant showing up in many Minnesota communities. We owe it to ourselves and our communities to protect each other from the virus. Just announced, you can receive a vaccine at the State Fair. If you’re heading there anyway, stop and get your shot! Check out Minnesota’s COVID-19 Vaccine Connector, call 833-431-2053 or ask your health care provider to help you find where you can receive your vaccine. ______________________ Stay connected with the legislature Please continue to reach out with any input, ideas, or feedback about the issues important to you. I value hearing from you, so please don’t hesitate to call or email me any time. You can also connect with me on Facebook here. It’s an honor to represent you at the State Capitol.
