October Revenue Report Minnesota Management and Budget (MMB) is reporting state general fund revenue was $657 million above the forecasted amount for the first quarter of Fiscal Year 2022, beginning July 1. The latest MMB information compares actual receipts for July, August and September of 2021 to receipts projected by the February 2021 Budget Forecast. These projections as adjusted to take into account laws enacted after that projection for the same period. Although this is good news, we must remember the budget forecast is only a projection and many factors remain unknown as we continue to recover from the pandemic. I will continue to prioritize investments in our families, businesses, and schools to ensure we can all get ahead and thrive post-pandemic. COVID-19 Booster and the Flu Shot Hospitalizations in Minnesota continue to rise as the Delta variant spreads in our communities. COVID -19 vaccinations are still widely available, and you are eligible for your booster shot if you received the Pfizer vaccine at least six months ago and:
Free vaccines are available at pharmacies, community clinics, from health care providers, and more. Use the state’s Vaccine Locator Map to find a nearby provider. It’s also time to get a flu shot to protect our health care workers and each other. Energy Assistance Program Expands A reminder Minnesota’s Energy Assistance Program (EAP), has expanded, ensuring Minnesotans can stay warm and lights will stay on during our cold months. Also, the Cold Weather Rule took effect on October 1 and will last through April 30.
