Neighbors, It is truly an honor to take your voice to the Capitol and I’m always interested to read your responses to the e-updates I send during and after the legislative session. During an election period, however, legislators cannot use state resources for unsolicited communications because it might create an unfair advantage for incumbents. Subsequently, this is my last update until after the election. I am, however, still available to help with the state-level problems. Thank you for joining me in our work together to improve the state and our community. Please continue to reach out with any input, ideas, or feedback. I value hearing from you, so please don’t hesitate to call or email me any time. You can also connect with me on Facebook here. TOMORROW, JULY 22 at 5 p.m. is the Deadline to Apply for Frontline Worker Bonus Tomorrow is the final day for workers who were on the frontline of the pandemic to apply for a bonus approved by the legislature this year. Money set aside for this program will be split equally among all approved applicants. Many Minnesotans were not able to work from home during the height of the pandemic and we all are very appreciative of those who put themselves in harm’s way during a terrible time. Check to see if you’re eligible and spread the word to friends and family. The deadline is 5 p.m. tomorrow! March for Reproductive Rights Following the Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade ruling, thousands of Minnesotans gathered in Saint Paul this week to show support for reproductive rights during the March for Abortion Access. Minnesota will still play a key role in providing safe and legal abortion care to women seeking this medical procedure. Also, a state court ruling last week struck down many of Minnesota’s abortion restrictions, including the 24 hour abortion waiting period. Minnesotans have galvanized and made it clear women and doctors should make very personal decisions, not politicians. I stand with advocates and my legislative colleagues to hold up protections Minnesota has implemented. COVID-19 Update You can still order a third round of free at-home COVID-19 tests. Click here to place your order. More COVID-19 updates are available through the Minnesota Department of Health website, or the U of M Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy (CIDRAP). ____________ Sincerely, Laurie Pryor State Representative
