New laws range from making it more difficult to sell stolen catalytic converters, to criminalizing the creation of sex-related deep fake activity, to requiring universal criminal firearms background checks. Other laws will also take effect, including measures related to bicyclists, and worker safety, and several items related to the legalization of adult-use cannabis.
