Friends,
April is here and things are rolling along at the Capitol while the weather warms up outside. I hope you have a chance to get out and enjoy! Have a great weekend!
Disaster Relief Passes House Unanimously
Last week, the Minnesota House of Representatives voted to approve additional funding for the state’s disaster contingency account. This account is critical to making it possible for the state to act quickly when natural disasters strike—providing aid to local communities in the event of a disaster.
The legislation was unanimously approved and puts $10 million into the Disaster Assistance Contingency Account. The need for disaster funds will be significant as communities around the state are already dealing with significant flooding while the account currently sits empty.
I am glad we could come together to pass this important bill and hope if more money is needed to address flooding across the state, those funds don't get caught up in end of session games.
Constituent Visits
The best part of serving our community is getting to meet with folks and discuss the important issues to them. Here are a few pictures from meetings I had this past week.
